Specific Responsibilities:

As a key team member, the Business/Functional Analyst will research and prepare comprehensive business process documentation, assist with the data requirements review, as well as design and develop reports for the department's Asset Management System project.

The consultant will be working with project teams, line managers and staff in order to complete the work.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years recent experience in the following areas:

·       Practical experience in preparing business process documentation (researching, interviewing, preparing training guides)

·       Familiar with general accounting principles (familiar with the recording of expenses, receivables, deposits)

·       Strong team player

·       Excellent facilitation, organizational and communication skills

·       Experience defining business requirements

·       Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills

·       Knowledge of accounting system design (PeopleSoft Financials preferred)

·       Good understanding of SQL, preferably in a DB2 environment

Working knowledge of at least six of the following software skills:

·       Understands the software mechanics as well as the business purpose behind a process

·       Interprets how decisions are made based on the design of a report (the bigger picture)

·       Discerns the difference between what is asked for and what may be wanted

·       Automates complex formulas and combine advanced features of Excel

·       Designs reusable code (avoids "hard coding" fixed values into software)

·       Designs flexible code (avoids cell specific references in favour of named ranges, for example)

·       Creates Excel visual basic functions and subroutines

·       Creates Access macros, visual basic functions and subroutines

·       Designs controls, buttons, input prompts (user friendly interface)

·       Automates links to and interfaces with other Office applications and ODBC sources

·       Automates data exchange with other applications

·       Automates results to screen or to reports
