July 23, 2008 to July 22, 2009 with two, 1 year options to extend at discretion
Work Summary:
Selected consultants may work on one or more of the following initiatives:
- Optimize Smart Defense.
- Optimize security rule sets.
- Develop historical database of traffic logs exported daily from SmartView Tracker.
- Review network zoning strategy.
- Assist with software upgrades and resolution of system failures
- Other system enhancements related to network security.
Where possible, hours of work will be scheduled when mutually convenient with at least 7 days notice. Some work will be required after hours and on weekends. Emergency response may be requested in extreme circumstances.
Skills:
- Experience with a variety of Checkpoint FW-1 NGX firewall implementations including the Nokia IP560 and current IPSO versions
- CheckPoint CCSE-NGX certification is required
In addition each proposed resource must demonstrate proficiency in the following:
- Database application design for transaction log archival from Tracker
- Multi-entry-point distributed redundant architectures
- IDS/IPS
- Infrastructure Vulnerability Assessment
- Defense In-Depth Best Practices
- Network Infrastructure Hardening
- Linux Systems Hardening
- Operational Support Systems Design
- Network Management Incident Response
- Network Auditing and Troubleshooting
- Network and Application Performance Analysis
Preferred/Experience:
- Current with industry best practices
- CISSP Certification
- A minimum of 10 years network security experience
- Good communication skills
