Autumn 2008

Posted Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

The leaves outside of my window are starting to change.  This started making me ponder all of the wonderful, new and exciting things that can happen with change.   With change, you must trust, and welcome the new with an open mind and with open arms.

September and October are the months of change.  Everyone is back from holidays, budget cycles and planning for budgets have begun, taking stock of what has happened over the year.  It seems that in the 21st century, change has become a constant occurrence; and it has seemingly been more of an organizational type of change.

We have learned to closely examine our businesses; we now make changes at every level of the organization to achieve our business objectives.  There is a constant topic of “Green” in our agenda which has delivered awareness for information technologies to facilitate this more “Green” way of thinking.  All people, especially I/T professionals, should become more aware of this and be of a more business mind towards this reality.

Starbucks is a good example of this.  They stand for culture and their communities.  They are socially responsible, balancing people, resources and their profits.  With everything they do, they acknowledge the impact they have in regards to their community.  And this is how most companies are changing, in ways of becoming more socially responsible.

P3 Resources Ltd. is anticipating a variety of not only contract, but permanent roles this fall.  Opportunities stretch from Senior or Intermediate Business Analysts, Project Managers, Programmers, and DBA’s, to Developers, QA Analysts and System Administrators.

There are a number of companies who have already started major projects and some companies that are just winding down large projects.  Either way, all clients need qualified team members.  We are more eager than ever to work with new clients and will be embarking on change management projects as well this fall.

Change isn’t slowing down any time soon, as January 1st, 2008 brought a whole new future to the professional world, as there is no more mandatory retirement in Canada.  We can expect to see more leadership and mentoring opportunities sprout from this and we would like to see a great solution arise from this for former employees and companies and create more contract opportunities.

In October, Pomponia Martinez will be teaching her master level HR courses once again.  Also, be sure to watch out for Pomponia in the October issue of BC Business where she talks about her “quirky hobby”!

Looks like fall will, once again, be flying on by.  I look forward to what the winter months have in store of us here at P3 Resources Ltd.!

Happy change,

Julie
